What are the ridiculous things you have heard about Hair Loss? Have you heard that you shouldn't wash your hair in the shower?


It can be challenging to distinguish fact from fiction regarding hair loss because there are so many urban legends and flat-out lies! 


We, today, are the Mythbusters - sharing the facts you should know about Hair Loss.

1. Your hair will grow faster if you cut it frequently.

BUSTED: NO! It's a myth.

Hair growth occurs at the roots, not at the ends, and hair growth is not affected by hair length. A regular hair trim may not affect how quickly or how much your hair grows, but removing split ends, which may frequently make your hair look thin or sparse at the bottom, undoubtedly improves the appearance of your hair overall.


2. We lose more hair when it is greasy.

BUSTED: NO! It's a myth.

Hair loss occurs in both greasy and dry hair/scalp. When your scalp loses its balance (which is producing the right amount of water and oil), hair loss can be one of the signals of an unhealthy scalp, regardless of your hair and scalp type.

The common misconception people always have about washing your hair every day is 'over shampooing'. In fact, keeping your scalp clean and fresh daily can actually help reduce hair loss. However, using the wrong/unsuitable shampoo for your scalp will lead to further hair loss in the long term.

5. Your hair will fall out more if you brush it when wet.
